Acorn Rabbit Rescue
Acorn Rabbit Rescue, established in 2020 in East Yorkshire, addresses a vital need in the local community for a dedicated rabbit rescue. Recognising that other rescues often prioritize dogs and cats, Acorn Rabbit Rescue was formed by a team of experienced rabbit owners passionate about the welfare of these complex animals.
As members of the Rabbit Welfare Association and an approved Babba Ethical Rescue, they ensure the highest standards of care.
The rescue takes in rabbits that are in need or unwanted, providing them with the necessary care until a suitable, forever home is found. Each rabbit undergoes a thorough health check, is neutered, and vaccinated for Myxomatosis/RHD1 and RHD2 before rehoming.
Acorn Rabbit Rescue stands firmly against the breeding and selling of rabbits and guinea pigs. They are dedicated to keeping every animal in their care until the right loving home is found, without imposing any time limit.
In cases where a rabbit cannot be rehomed due to long-term health issues, the rescue provides a lifelong sanctuary, ensuring they receive continuous care and love.
